Frequently asked questions

How do I match my tinnitus tone? On first launch, after the disclaimer, move the slider until the tone you hear matches the pitch of your tinnitus, then tap This Matches My Tinnitus. The range covers 100 Hz to 10,000 Hz.

How do I change my matched tone? On the main screen, tap Re-Match Tinnitus Frequency and adjust the slider again. Your new tone replaces the old one.

Why does sound keep playing when my screen is locked? Sessions are designed to play in the background, so you can lock your iPhone or use other apps. A session stops on its own when the time you chose is up, or you can tap Stop Session at any time.

How long can a session be? Choose from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours or 6 hours.

Why are there pauses in the sound? Each session alternates between rounds of tones and short periods of quiet. This is part of the pattern, not a fault.

What volume should I use? Use a comfortable, low volume. The tones should be clearly audible but never loud or unpleasant. Headphones work well.

I can’t hear anything. Check that your iPhone isn’t muted and that the volume is turned up, and that your headphones or Bluetooth speaker are connected. Very high tones can be harder to hear on some speakers, so try headphones.

Does Resona collect my data? No. Resona has no account, ads, tracking or analytics. The only thing it saves is your matched frequency, and that stays on your iPhone. See the privacy policy.
